The night we went to take pictures at London Dance Hall, wed gotten there early, so hardly anyone was around.

J. Marcus Weekley was born in Chattanooga, TN, but moved all over the planet (Georgia, Germany, Wisconsin, Phillipines, Mississippi, Texas, Illinois). He began photographing in high school and has since worked at the university paper at The University of Southern Mississippi and freelanced for papers in Lubbock, Texas and Beloit, Wisconsin. Marcus' images accompany the essays of Gail Folkins in the forthcoming book Dance Hall Revival (Texas Tech University Press, 2007). He is also a writer, and his work has appeared in Quick Fiction, Thieves Jargon, The Iowa Review, Bewildering Stories, and The Clackamas Literary Review, among other places. More of his images can be seen at his Flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/whynottryitagain2 . (whynottryitagain@hotmail.com)
