GARY MCDOWELL

A Miscarriage Scare at Bronson Methodist
After John Rybicki

Lord, we won’t cry,
We’ll carry our numb body

Home to our warm bed,
Rest our head, rest

Our head and be lamed
By our thoughts of death.

Lord, take what you’ve come for
And leave her to her body’s noises:

No beasts would live there anymore.
No other beasts anymore.
